Abstract

Strategi menggambarkan petunjuk umum di mana rencana- rencana organisasi dilakukan untuk mencapai tujuan-tujuannya. Setiap organisasi yang dikelola dengan baik akan memiliki satu atau lebih strategi, walaupun tidak dinyatakan secara eksplisit. Perusahaan mengembangkan strateginya dengan membandingkan kompetensi utamanya dengan peluang yang ada dalam industrinya. Corporate Strategy ini menghasilkan keputusan-keputusan yang melibatkan kondisi berikut: bisnis akan bertambah, bisnis akan bertahan, bisnis akan diturunkan, dan bisnis akan didivestasi. Strategi untuk setiap unit usaha adalah bersepakat bagaimana menciptakan dan menjaga keunggulan kompetitif pada masing-masing jenis usaha. Strategi unit usaha bergantung pada dua aspek yang saling berhubungan, yaitu: misi unit usaha dan keunggulan unit usaha.
