Abstract

Met deze panelstudie presenteren we de antwoorden van 585 ouders, met kinderen tussen de 10 en 15 jaar, rondom regels, kennis en beleid over social media. Ouders geven massaal aan meer hulp te kunnen gebruiken met het veiliger maken van sociale media voor hun jongeren. Ze zien hier een belangrijke rol voor zichzelf, scholen en tech bedrijven, en in mindere mate voor de overheid. Ook is er geen meerderheid voor een totaal social media verbod. Beleid zou zich moeten richten op gepaste regels voor specifieke apps en het verbeteren van ouderlijke kennis en controle.
