Pengembangan Ekonomi Pesantren Butuh Terobosan Baru

Abstract

Pasca UU No 18 tahun 2019 tengan Pesantren diundangkan, Kementerian Agama mempunyai tugas berat untuk menggerakkan dunia pesantren dalam tiga fungsinya, yaitu: fungsi pendidikan, fungsi pemberdayaan sosial, dan fungsi dakwah. Sejauh ini, lembaga pesantren lebih dominan menjalankan fungsi pendidikan . Penambahan dua fungsi yang lain merupakan perluasan mandat (wider mandate) yang merupakan aspirasi politik pesantren untuk mendapatkan status hukum dalam Undang-Undang NKRI. Khusus mengenai fungsi pemberdayaan sosial diharapkan pesntren mampu membangun ekosistem ekonomi yang tangguh. Tulisan ini mencoba mewacanakan perlunya terobosan baru pesantren sebagai salah satu kekuatan utama pemberdaya sosial di bidang ekonomi.
