Abstract

Pariwisata belum lama diresmikan menjadi ilmu mandiri. Oleh karena itu buku-buku yang membahas mengenai ilmi pariwisata yang tersedia saat ini masih sangat terbatas, sehingga mahasiswa yang ingin mendalami ilmu pariwisata masih banyak bergantung pada karya-karya ilmuan luar negeri. Kontradisksi bahwa karakteristik pariwisata sebagai ilmu sosial tidak dapat berlaku universal membuat beberapa teori-teori kepariwisata yang diciptakan cendikiawan asing terkadang tidak dapat diaplikasikan secara kafah di Indonesia. Buku ini merupakan karya kedua penulis yang diperuntukan bagi mahasiswa maupun kalangan umum yang ingin mendalami ilmu hospitality dan kepariwisataan. Tentunya buku ini masih jauh dari sempurna oleh sebab itu kritik dan saran yang membangun demi perbaikan buku ini sangat diharapkan, dapat disampaikan melalui alamat haryhermawan8@gmail.com.
