Ouverture et croissance industrielle en Chine : Etude empirique sur un échantillon de villes

Abstract

Cette étude porte sur l’impact de la politique “d’ouverture et de réforme” de la Chine sur sa croissance industrielle urbaine à court terme. Elle vise d’une part à expliciter l’origine des différences inter-urbaines de croissance à l’aide des différences observées dans le degré d’ouverture et de mise en œuvre des réformes et d’autre part, à tester l’existence de phénomènes de diffusion inter et intra-urbaine de la croissance.L’analyse économétrique utilise une base de données qui décrit les évolutions économiques principales de 434 villes chinoises au cours de la période 1988-91. Les résultats mettent en lumière deux mécanismes essentiels par lesquels l’ouverture affecte les performances de croissance. Il s’agit d’une part, de l’accès à la technologie étrangère et d’autre part, des externalités positives engendrées par les exportations sur la production régionale totale ... This study concerns the impact of China’s “opening and reform” policies on short-term urban industrial growth. It seeks to detail differences in inter-urban growth by observing different degrees of opening and the implementation of reforms. The study also seeks to identify phenomena of inter- and intra-urban growth spillovers.The econometric analysis uses a database of the principal economic developments in 434 Chinese towns over the period 1988 - 1991.
