La nueva economía

Abstract

Las relaciones económicas entre los distintos agentes se han visto afectadas sustancialmente sobre el final del milenio. Así, las innovaciones tecnológicas han ido modificando la forma y fundamentalmente la velocidad con que las transacciones se realizan, cambiando consecuentemente el comportamiento del sistema económico visto en su conjunto. Estos cambios en las condiciones de los mercados han provocado la búsqueda de distintos nombres que definan el fenómeno de nuestro tiempo. Sin embargo, el etiquetado como "economía de la información", "economía de redes", "economía digital", o "economía del conocimiento" ha dejado paso al de "nueva economía". Trataremos de definir en el presente trabajo a la "nueva economía". Para ello, intentaremos describir cuáles son los cambios que supuestamente han afectado el funcionamiento de los sistemas económicos, cuáles son sus efectos, qué puede hacer la "vieja economía" para explicar estos fenómenos, y qué se puede esperar hacia el futuro.
