Avances metodológicos en la construcción del indicador sintético de actividad económica de General Pueyrredon, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Abstract

La generación de información estadística referida al ciclo económico en espacios subnacionales constituye una actividad compleja pero justificada por las singularidades regionales. El artículo reseña la construcción del ISAE-GP, indicador mensual coincidente que describe la evolución de la economía del municipio de General Pueyrredon, Buenos Aires, sobre la base de series representativas del entramado productivo local. El período estudiado es 2004-2023. El ISAE-GP presenta una buena consistencia temporal con el EMAE y el ITAE-PBA, pero se advierten expansiones más cortas y recesiones más largas, al comparar con el ciclo nacional. Asimismo, se identifican patrones locales de movimientos que no tienen correspondencia con la dinámica provincial. En consecuencia, se justifica disponer de un indicador local que monitoree la macroeconomía del distrito.
