Abstract

Las subvenciones constituyen un instrumento de política económica para satisfacer algunas necesidades de interés general de la sociedad. Las subvenciones se otorgan con el propósito de lograr distintos objetivos de política económica como: estabilizar los precios al productor o al consumidor; apoyar la distribución y comercialización de los bienes; alentar el consumo de un bien de mérito como la educación o la conservación del medio ambiente; incentivar la inversión; cubrir impactos financieros; promover la innovación tecnológica; lograr la coincidencia entre los intereses privados y sociales; fortalecer industrias que se las considera importantes; ofrecer suministro estable de bienes de consumo o industriales; fomentar el empleo; proteger a las industrias nacionales de la competencia de productos importados o, alternativamente, para fomentar la exportación.
