Abstract

Ce Texte Analyse la Contribution de la Balance Commerciale En Tant Que Stabilisateur Automatique du Revenu National. Il Y Est Developpe et Verifie un Modele de Demande D'importation et D'exportation Qui Vise a Infirmer Ou a Confirmer L'hypothese Que la Balance Commerciale Joue le Role D'un Stabilisateur Automatique du Revenu au Canada au Cours de la Periode 1972-1983. L'effet des Variations Cycliques du Revenu Interieur Sur les Importations Est Deux Fois Plus Fort Que Celui des Variations du Taux de Change et Quatre Fois Superieur a L'influence des Variations de Prix. Tel Qu'anticipe, les Exportations Sont Faiblement Influencees Par la Variable-Prix et Par le Taux de Change et Davantage Par le Revenu Potentiel des Etats-Unis et du Reste du Monde.
