The Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative: Effects on Spending, Quality, Patients, and Physicians

Abstract

This study evaluates the effect of the Comprehensive Primary Care (CPC) initiative on care delivery and outcomes for fee-for-service Medicare beneficiaries over four years. CPC practices made improvements in care delivery, but did not reduce Medicare spending enough to cover care management fees.
