Para a História do Pensamento Monetário em Portugal no Século XIX

Abstract

Este estudo tem por objectivo a reconstituição histórica dos principais desenvolvimentos das ideias teóricas relacionadas com a questão monetária, no Portugal de oitocentos. Avaliam-se aqui preferencialmente as ideias de indole teórica, em especial as expressas em textos de âmbito académico e designadamente em compêndios, mas também aquelas que inserindo-se em estudos de economia aplicada têm manifesta importância teórica. Na sua generalidade, os economistas portugueses que se debruçaram sobre esta problemática, designadamente Acursio das Neves, Ferreira Borges, Adriao Forjaz, Agostinho Albano, J. F. Laranjo, Carlos M. Roma e Mamoco e Sousa, revelam-se partidários da teoria classica, cuja recepção ocorreu frequentemente por referência directa aos textos fundamentais desta COrrente e nao raro sem grande atraso em relação às obras inspiradoras.
