Intégration et frontières sociales au Luxembourg

Abstract

La présente recherche a pour objectif de montrer que la question de l’intégration ne concerne pas seulement les immigrés et leurs descendants, mais tous les individus d’une société, même ceux dépourvus de lien direct avec l’immigration. Cela revient à étudier la stratification sociale de la société, luxembourgeoise en l’occurrence. L’exploitation de l’European Values Study (EVS) de 2008 nous a permis de « mesurer » l’intégration des Luxembourgeois à travers les différents indicateurs retenus : l’insertion professionnelle, l’adhésion aux valeurs fondamentales européennes ainsi que la participation sociale et politique. Nous mettons alors en évidence que les individus les moins intégrés se caractérisent pour l’essentiel par un faible niveau scolaire, en partie déterminé par le milieu social familial d’origine. Ces résultats nous conduisent à nous interroger sur les défis que les pouvoirs publics luxembourgeois ont à relever pour faciliter l’intégration de tous les membres de la société grand-ducale.
