Deutscher Konsum erholt sich langsam vom Energiepreisschock - Ergebnisse aus der IMK-Energiepreisbefragung Anfang 2024

Abstract

Die Auswertung der vierten Welle der IMK-Energiepreisbefragung zeigt: Die Belastung des Privatkonsums durch den historisch einmaligen Energiepreisschock aus den Jahren 2022 und 2023 nimmt langsam ab. So hat die wahrgenommene Inflationsrate mit dem tatsaechlichen Rueckgang der Teuerung deutlich abgenommen, wenn auch eine gewisse Traegheit in der Wahrnehmung zu beobachten ist und die aktuelle Inflation noch ueberschaetzt wird. Zugleich hat auch der Anteil der Haushalte, die sich durch hohe Energiepreise bei verschiedenen Energietraegern belastet fuehlen, seit der vorherigen Befragungswelle zur Jahreswende 2022/23 deutlich abgenommen. Lediglich bei Strom ist das Belastungsempfinden weiter hoch. Als Folge aeusserte ein deutlich geringerer Anteil als noch vor einem Jahr, sich beim Konsum weiter einschraenken zu wollen. Dies laesst auf eine allmaehliche Konsumerholung im Laufe des Jahres schliessen.
