Abstract

Examines the experience of Thailand and its neighbouring countries on bilateral employment agreements. It first gives a brief history and description of the economic and institutional environment under which these bilateral agreements in the form of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were forged, proceeds to summarize the lesson learned from the implementation of the MOUs, and finally makes recommendations for future bilateral negotiations.
