Abstract

Working paper on energy and power consumption by type and use of fuels in urban areas of Maharashtra, India - presents results of a sample survey (1982-1983) of energy use (incl. Private sector transport) in eight communitys in households of six levels of income, as well as indirect energy consumption in public services and utilities such as public sector transport, water supply and hospitals; gives total household energy use incl. Direct costs; outlines energy policy implications. Bibliography, graphs, statistical tables.
