Abstract

Working paper on technological change in the newspaper printing industry in developing countries and the employment and social implications - comparing the industries of India, Indonesia and Africa, discusses trade union response, role of rural area press in promoting literacy and distribution of technical information, and the importance of government policies, choice of technology, training, etc. Statistical tables.
