Impact of U.S. Environmental controls on trade and employment: the case of Brazil

Abstract

Working paper presenting a case study on role of USA pollution control measures in export volume and employment in Brazil in the 1970s - finds that us environmental protection legislation had negligible impact on trade, jobs and income in Brazil, and that there is no evidence of correlation between export promotion and product pollution degree. References and statistical tables.
