Abstract

ILO pub-wep pub. Working paper on rural development in Malawi for the period from 1964 to 1978 - outlines economic development trends since independence in 1964 (export promotion and employment creation), considers features of the agricultural economy (land ownership and poverty), and focuses on income distribution for agricultural workers (agricultural income), and the role of past agricultural policies in contributing to economic disparity. References and statistical tables.
