Poverty, inequality and stagnation: the Ghanaian experience

Abstract

ILO pub-wep pub. Working paper on ruralpoverty (low income), economic disparity and steady state economy trends in Ghana - covers the evolution of per capita income from 1950 to 1975 in Africa South of Sahara in relation to economic growth, inequalities in land ownership, income distribution and consumer expenditure between rural areas and urban areas, and the role of cocoa prices and export volume in the creation of stagnation in food production. Graphs, references and statistical tables.
