Abstract

Working paper on a basic needs approach to development policy in Somalia - covers historical and geographical aspects, population, the political system, religion, etc., considers macro-economic indicators affecting anti- poverty and income distribution strategy (incl. The re-human settlement scheme for nomads), and forms part of a WEP research project on economic policy and social policy. References and statistical tables.
