Productividad de la inversión en salud de los hogares en Nicaragua

Abstract

El presente estudio muestra evidencias acerca de los determinantes del estado de salud de la población adulta de Nicaragua (entre 18 y 70 años) y sus efectos en la productividad de las personas económicamente activas, medida por la renta horaria que perciben con su trabajo. El estudio se basa en los datos recogidos por la Encuesta Nacional de Nivel de Vida realizada en 1993 en la cual se encontraron además de las conocidas dificultades de medición del estado de salud (por su carácter endógeno y las persistentes dificultades en su medida), otros problemas derivados de la calidad de los datos por errores en los instrumentos de recolección, digitación y procesamiento primario de la base de datos.
