Impacto del Nuevo Acuerdo de Capitales de Basilea sobre el sistema de calificacion de riesgo

Abstract

En este documento se revisan las políticas y métodos operativos actuales de las calificadoras de riesgo que operan en Argentina y Chile, bajo el supuesto de que la experiencia de estos países puede ser de utilidad para el resto de la región. El énfasis del trabajo está puesto en el impacto que el Nuevo Acuerdo de Capitales de Basilea (NACB) tendrá sobre los procedimientos de calificación. También se revisa la transparencia de los regímenes de calificación en el contexto de las legislaciones vigentes, sugiriendo los cambios que podrían implicar una mejora. Este análisis considera el rol de la calificación en el contexto del mercado de capitales argentino y chileno, ambos dominados por las Administradoras de Fondos de Pensiones (AFPs).
