Abstract

El presente documento está destinado para la información y referencia en la Cuarta Reunión del Diálogo Regional-Red de Desastres Naturales, en el que participan los países de América Latina y el Caribe. El estudio trata de la definición y recomendación de las actividades e instrumentos económicos de la gestión ambiental que contribuyan a la reducción de riesgos a desastres naturales en los países de América Latina y el Caribe. Estos temas tienen como marco general el hecho de que el número de desastres ha ido aumentando considerablemente durante las últimas décadas, sin embargo, la percepción del riesgo de los habitantes de la región sigue siendo inadecuada.
