Abstract

"Since February 2006 self-employed have the opportunity to voluntarily insure themselves against unemployment. So far there is little information on the use of unemployment insurance benefits by the self-employed. This policy brief closes this research gap and answers the following questions: Who benefits from the voluntary unemployment insurance? How frequently and for how long do recipients receive benefits? In which labour force status do they enter once their entitlement expires?" (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
