Frauen in der betrieblichen Berufsausbildung: Seltener am Start, genauso oft am Ziel

Abstract

Daten des IAB-Betriebspanels 2005 zeigen, dass Frauen seltener als Männer eine betriebliche Ausbildung durchlaufen. Im Westen sind 44 Prozent, im Osten sogar nur 40 Prozent der Auszubildenden weiblich. Betriebe bilden Frauen vor allem in den Bereichen aus, in denen auch viele Frauen beschäftigt sind. Dies sind insbesondere die Dienstleistungs- und Serviceberufe sowie der Verwaltungsbereich. Im Verarbeitenden Gewerbe und im IT-Bereich sind sie stark unterrepräsentiert. Frauen schließen die Ausbildung häufiger ab als Männer. In Westdeutschland stellen sie fast die Hälfte der Absolventen. Auch im Osten holen Frauen auf: Ihr Anteil an allen Absolventen liegt dort aber nur bei 43 Prozent. Beim Übergang in Beschäftigung streuen die Übernahmequoten nach Beruf, Branche und Betriebsgröße relativ stark. Auch regionale Unterschiede sind zu beobachten: Im Osten werden nur 46 Prozent, im Westen dagegen 56 Prozent aller Auszubildenden übernommen. In der Summe betrachtet haben Männer und Frauen annähernd gleiche Übernahmechancen nach einer betrieblichen Ausbildung. (IAB2)
