Anhebung der Rentenaltersgrenze: Pro und Contra Rente mit 67

Abstract

"Unbestritten ist, dass in den nächsten Jahrzehnten immer weniger Beschäftigte immer mehr Rentnern immer länger die Rente bezahlen müssen. Kontrovers ist hingegen, ob die schrittweise Anhebung des Rentenalters auf 67 Jahre der richtige Weg ist, um dieses Problem zu entschärfen. Es spricht zwar eine Reihe guter Gründe für die Anhebung des Rentenalters, zu denen der Geburtenrückgang, die steigende Lebenserwartung, die wachsende Gesundheit und Leistungsfähigkeit Älterer sowie der drohende Fachkräftemangel in gar nicht so ferner Zukunft zählen. Auf der anderen Seite sind ungelöste Arbeitsmarktprobleme ins Feld zu führen, soziale Härten bis hin zur Altersarmut und die eher geringen finanziellen Entlastungseffekte für die Rentenkassen. Wägt man die 'Pros' und 'Contras' sorgfältig gegeneinander ab, so bleibt die Empfehlung, über bestimmte Aspekte der 'Rente mit 67' noch einmal gründlich nachzudenken. So müssten etwa mögliche negative Arbeitsmarkteffekte näher untersucht werden. Auch die Gefahr sozialer Härten bei Arbeitnehmern mit berufsbedingter Erwerbsunfähigkeit sollte bei der Ausgestaltung berücksichtigt werden." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
