サービスの質・価格と消費者の選好

Abstract

本稿は，個人を対象としたサーベイに基づき，サービスの質・価格に対する消費者の選好に関する観察事実を提示するものである．具体的には，サービスの質の向上への認識，質の高いサービスに対する支払意思，サービス価格の変化に伴う異時点間の代替及び家計内サービス生産との代替について考察する．その結果によれば，消費者は多くのサービスの質が向上していると評価しており，サービス産業の生産性上昇率が過小評価されている可能性を示唆している．質の高いサービスに対する支払意思額の存在が確認されるが，個人間での異質性が大きく，年齢・所得水準等の個人特性の説明力は限られている．サービスの異時点間の代替の価格弾力性は比較的大きく，適切な価格設定を通じた需要平準化の余地が大きいことを示唆している．市場サービスの家計内サービス生産との代替可能性は，一部のサービスではかなり強いが，個人差も大きい．
