Access to high-quality oncology care across Europe

Abstract

Cancervården i Europa står inför stora utmaningar. Denna rapport syftar till att ta fram evidens-baserade policyrekommendationer om hur tillgången till cancervården kan optimeras och hur man kan uppnå en högkvalitativ standard som är både genomförbar och hållbar. Rapporten belyser hela patientens väg genom vården vilken omfattar förebyggande åtgärder, screening, diagnostik och behandling. Tyngdpunkten ligger dock på tillgången till effektiva screeningprogram samt innovativa läkemedelsbehandlingar. I rapporten identifieras de barriärer som hindrar tillgång till effektiv cancervård samt de faktorer som leder till en högkvalitativ standard i vården. Analysen fokuserar på tre vanliga cancertyper – kolorektal-, lung- och prostatacancer – och fyra EU-medlemsländer – Frankrike, Tyskland, Polen och Sverige. Den hälsoekonomiska bördan av cancer granskas och ländernas resultat bedöms och jämförs med avseende på de upprättade tillgångs- och kvalitetsprinciperna. Rapporten har gjorts på uppdrag av och med finansiering från Janssen Pharmaceutica NV men bygger på IHE:s oberoende forskning. Janssen har inte haft något inflytande eller redaktionell kontroll över innehållet i denna rapport och författarnas synpunkter och åsikter överensstämmer inte nödvändigtvis med Janssens.
