Samhällets kostnader för att förebygga drunkningsolyckor. Delprojekt i kostnaderna av samhällets säkerhetsarbete

Abstract

IHEs Sara Olofsson och Frida Hjalte har på uppdrag av Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap (MSB) genomfört en studie av de samhällsekonomiska kostnaderna för att förebygga drunkningsolyckor i Sverige. Syftet har varit att skatta samhällets årliga kostnader för att förebygga drunkningsolyckor samt att fördela dessa efter kostnadsbärare och kostnadstyper. Studien ingår som en del i MSBs projekt för att skatta samhällets kostnader för säkerhetsarbete inom olika områden. Andra områden där kostnader skattats är vid förebyggande av smittsamma sjukdomar, bränder, leveranssäkerhet av eldistribution, vägtrafikolyckor och fallolyckor. Genom att uttrycka samhällets belastning av att förebygga olyckor och deras konsekvenser i kronor (samhällsekonomisk kostnad) kan man direkt jämföra olika olyckstyper med varandra och se hur olika kostnadsbärare belastas.
