Abstract

Intresse och användning av hälsoekonomiska utvärderingar som underlag vid beslut om pris och subentionering av läkemedel ökar i de flesta länder. Många länder har infört mer eller mindre formella krav på hälsoekonomisk dokumentation inför sådana beslut och ett flertal länder och organisationer har även tagit fram riktlinjer för hur ekonomiska utvärderingar bör vara utförda. En genomgång av dessa riktlinjer visar att det finns stora likheter mellan dem, även om det finns skillnader i vissa detaljer. Ekonomiska utvärderingar bildar i allt ökande utsträckning underlag för beslut, men det är dock oklart vilken roll de i praktiken spelar.
