Abstract

Dans cet ouvrage G. Rot et F. Vatin retournent à des enquêtes qu'ils ont conduites (séparément) entre le début des années 1980 et la fin des années 2000, dans les industries chimique et nucléaire. Il s'agit donc d'une « revisite ». Cette synthèse rétrospective s'adresse « d'abord au lecteur ignorant de la littérature antérieure », l'objectif étant, à son attention, « d'aborder la question [des industries de flux] sans le filtre académique d'une revue préalable de la littérature ». Néanmoins la discussion théorique resurgit à la fin du livre, au stade du coda. Au fil du flux est donc un ouvrage « symphonique » qui permet de comprendre en une centaine de pages comment l'usine pensée sans ouvriers, est également une usine qui gère un produit qu'on ne voit jamais.
