Abstract

Note comparative à 34 ans d'intervalle entre les conditions de vie des femmes ouvrières de Renault et des femmes Gilets Jaunes. Une recherche effectuée entre 1982 et 1984 auprès d'ouvrières spécialisées (les OS) de Renault à Dreux visait à approcher les modes de vie d'un groupe social de femmes, des femmes actives encore peu étudiées en tant que groupe à l'époque. On cherchait à comprendre à partir des histoires familiales comment ces femmes arrivées à Dreux d'un peu partout parvenaient à vivre le quotidien, à éviter la précarité et le chômage et à compenser les aléas de la vie répercutés au jour le jour sur la charge mentale ? Comment elles et leur couple faisaient face dans la continuité pour assurer un avenir solide à leurs enfants, alors que déjà dans les années 1980, elles savaient que « rester chez Renault » serait toujours une chance.
