Altruisme et développement territorial viable. Si vous ne pensez pas aux autres, pensez à vous : soyez altruistes !

Abstract

À l'instar de Jacques Attali, Philippe Kourislky (2012) ou Matthieu Ricard (2013), nous pensons qu'une économie fondée sur l'altruisme est plus viable que celle fondée sur l'égoïsme décrit par la Fable des abeilles de Mandeville . Il ne s'agit là pas d'une utopie. Les exemples de coopération réussie sont nombreux (pôles territoriaux de coopération économique, innovations sociales, entraide, collaborations…) et une gestion soucieuse de l'environnement naturel est possible, les travaux d'Elinor Ostrom ou de David Bollier (2014) vont dans ce sens pour des communautés très diverses. Nous suggérons, au travers cet article, que l'approche par le développement territorial viable (Gagnon, 1994) prenait bien en compte la nécessité de l'altruisme souvent mis de côté par l'approche par le développement durable, largement confondu avec celui de la temporalité du développement.
