Abstract

Cette étude essaie de donner une image fidele de la situation actuelle des transports routiers fédéraux de marchandises au Mexique, en mettant essentiellement l'accent sur les entreprises. Elle repose sur des entretiens réalisés en août 1986 auprès de fonctionnaires, de constructeurs et de transporteurs mexicains. Le premier chapitre est consacré aux formes de l'intervention publique dans ce secteur. Les aspects liés à l'infrastructure sont vus séparément dans le deuxième chapitre. L'offre de véhicules utilitaires fait l'objet du troisième chapitre. Les principaux constructeurs y sont recensés et on essaie d'évaluer les déterminants de leurs politiques techniques. Le dernier chapitre porte sur les entreprises de transport. Les problèmes essentiels liés à leurs moyens de production sont diagnostiqués avant de déboucher sur une évaluation de leur santé financière.
