Abstract

Lors de leur réunion du 21 janvier 2004, les directeurs d'administration centrale du ministère chargé des transports ont fait part de la nécessité de disposer d'une vision d'ensemble des besoins d'informations sur les transports. Saisie de cette demande lors de sa réunion du 27 mai 2004, la formation « Transports-Tourisme » du Conseil national de l'information statistique (Cnis) a proposé que soit mis en place un groupe de travail du Cnis, associant étroitement le ministère et l'Insee, pour mener à bien cet inventaire.Ce groupe a eu pour mission de réaliser un recueil segmenté des différentes demandes des services centraux ou déconcentrés de l'État ; des autorités européennes, régionales et locales ; des acteurs économiques du transport et du public en général.Il a pris en compte les conséquences que pourra avoir la nouvelle vague de décentralisation sur les capacités de réponse du dispositif statistique actuel. Enfin il a dressé un état des informations complémentaires qui devraient être collectées.
