Abstract

Over the past decade, France has undergone significant social transformations, marked marked by increasing economic inequality and growing job insecurity. The "Gilets jaunes" movement has highlighted a deep-seated discontent with policies policies perceived as unfair. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these inequalities, particularly affecting vulnerable populations. At the same time, tensions around identity have intensified, fuelling immigration and secularism. To meet these challenges, social policy reforms, greater attention to education and the promotion of and promoting civic participation are essential to building a more inclusive and equitable society.
