Abstract

La France est un des pays de l'OCDE où l'émigration est relativement faible. Ces dernières années, toutefois, des débats se sont fait l'écho d'une hausse des départs de Français vers l'étranger. L'évolution du solde migratoire des Français estimé par l'INSEE et l'accroissement des enregistrements dans le registre consulaire semblent conforter ce constat, mais il reste nécessaire de mieux mesurer ce phénomène. Comment la France se compare-t-elle à ses voisins et aux autres pays de l'OCDE en matière d'expatriation ? Qui sont les Français installés à l'étranger et qu'y font-ils ? La pandémie actuelle est-elle susceptible de modifier ces dynamiques migratoires ?
