Abstract

Le développement local et la ruralité seraient-ils de ces modes passagères que produit et consomme une société plus attentive aux écumes médiatiques qu'aux vagues de fond ? Hier cantonnés en quelques zones marginales, parfois suspectés d'occulter les débats majeurs, ces thèmes nourrissent aujourd'hui discours et colloques, se chargent des aspirations et des significations les plus diverses, se banalisent en procédures et pratiques variées. Mais le reflux se dessine-t-il déjà ? Oue pèsent les initiatives locales face aux enjeux européens et à la compétition mondiale ? Oue représentent les espaces ruraux dans la course aux pôles d'excellence ou devant l'urgence des quartiers urbains explosifs ?
