Bénéfices non marchands de la protection de la rade de Brest

Abstract

La rade de Brest est un site pilote de la CEE en matière de qualité des eaux littorales. Il y a deux problèmes de pollution à résoudre en priorité : la contamination microbienne d'origine urbaine et l'enrichissement en sels nutritifs d'origine agricole. Ce rapport présente les résultats d'une enquête dont l'objectif était d'estimer la valeur non marchande accordée par les résidents à la dépollution et à la préservation de la rade de Brest. Il s'agissait d'apprécier dans quelle mesure ces bénéfices non marchands contribuent, avec les bénéfices marchands, à justifier socialement les coûts entraînés par le programme de dépollution prévu au contrat de baie de la rade de Brest. Les bénéfices de l'amélioration de la salubrité des eaux et de la préservation de l'écosystème ont été mesurés par évaluation contingente. Dans le but d'interpréter les évaluations, les habitudes récréatives et les opinions environnementales des Brestois ont également été analysées.
