Les rollers : mode... de déplacement ?

Abstract

Fort d'au moins un million d'adeptes en France, le roller est devenu plus qu'une mode: un véritable phénomène de société. Et, pour un nombre croissant d'entre eux, c'est aussi un mode de déplacement urbain. Cette étude se propose d'aborder les rollers sous cet angle.Après avoir retracé l'histoire du roller,l'auteur présente les avantages les inconvénients liés à ce nouveau moyen de déplacement, utilisable réglementairement uniquement sur les trottoirs (puisque le patineur est assimilé à un piéton). Ce qui le conduit à faire des propositions d'ordre réglementaire, mais aussi en matière d'aménagements, en faveur d'une meilleure intégration du patineur dans la ville.Il est grand temps que les pouvoirs publics considèrent le roller autrement que comme un simple jeu :dans le contexte actuel, il serait en effet dommage de se priver d'un tel mode de déplacement, non polluant et bien peu consommateur d'espace
