Abstract

La manière dont sont et seront gérés les déchets radioactifs ainsi que les représentations qu'en ont les français conditionnent d'ores et déjà l'image et donc les perspectives de devenir de la filière électro nucléaire. Si les déchets à haute activité font l'objet de toutes les attentions dont celles, soutenues, des médias et de l'opinion publique, des changements notables sont toutefois à l'œuvre quant aux conceptions et aux préconisations des « experts » sur le traitement des déchets dits de très faible activité (TFA). Ces évolutions méritent qu'on s'y attarde dans la mesure où elles pourraient bien ouvrir la voie à la redéfinition de nouveaux enjeux, à de nouvelles priorités, de nouvelles formes d'organisation, de nouvelles orientations en termes de localisation et bousculer ainsi la hiérarchie des choix à effectuer en ce domaine.
