L'Europe à la poursuite du rêve américain

Abstract

Les perspectives de croissance européenne sont au premier semestre 2000 placées sous le signe de l'optimisme. Les points de vue exprimés lors de la réunion de printemps des économistes de l'Association des Instituts Européens de Conjoncture Economique (AIECE) à Ljubljana en sont le reflet : par rapport à l'automne dernier, les croissances prévues ont été révisées en hausse. Pour l'ensemble de l'Union européenne, elles sont maintenant de 3,2 % pour 2000 (au lieu de 2,6 en automne) et 3,0 % pour 2001 (1). L'Irlande devrait à nouveau recevoir la palme de la plus forte croissance de la zone, suivie de la Finlande, des Pays-Bas et de la France, l'Italie, l'Allemagne et le Danemark restant les derniers du classement (tableau). Chez nos voisins d'Europe centrale, les perspectives de croissance sont aussi plus favorables qu'il y a six mois (...).
