Abstract

Les économies de la zone nordique ont du mal à redémarrer : les Britanniques se fournissent désormais en bois au Canada tandis que les autres marchés d'Europe occidentale ont perdu l'habitude de s'approvisionner en Fennoscandie. L'activité de ports comme Copenhague, Stockholm ou Göteborg s'est effondrée. Des retards structurels freinent aussi la croissance. Les années 1815-1830 sont donc assez difficiles malgré des réformes dont les bénéfices ne sont pas immédiats. La conjoncture s'améliore toutefois peu à peu, permettant de dépasser certains blocages et d'explorer des voies originales. Dès lors, est-il pertinent de considérer cette époque, à la suite de Lars Andersson et Eli Moen, comme une phase de progrès trop longtemps sous-estimée ?
