Abstract

La vitesse est une notion polymorphe qui dépend de la combinaison de plusieurs facteurs. L'économie des transports nous enseigne qu'au-delà de sa valeur technique, il existe plusieurs outils pour en comprendre sa représentation sociale et son utilité économique. Notre propos portera sur le plus reconnu dans le domaine à savoir le coût généralisé qui lie le prix d'un déplacement en transport à son temps de trajet et la valeur qu'on lui donne pour une relecture originale de la vitesse. Elle donnera lieu à une réflexion prospective sur le positionnement de l'offre ferroviaire grande vitesse par rapport aux autres modes interurbains et nouveaux entrants en plus de réfléchir aux nouveaux besoins en vitesse.
