Abstract

Il est sans doute révolu le temps où l'on peut affirmer que les idées économiques exercent peu d'influence sur le jeu politique. Les consultations électorales sont devenues l'occasion d'un rituel de discussion des mesures envisagées par les programmes des candidats et d'appels de vote individuels ou collectifs en faveur de partis ou de coalitions. L'intervention d'Olivier Blanchard, figure éminente de la macroéconomie, à la veille des élections législatives françaises de 2024, est symptomatique du primat conféré à l'engagement sur le principe de neutralité au nom de l'expertise de la discipline héritée de Smith et Keynes.
