Abstract

В новините редовно се повдигат опасения от страна на икономисти, при които ефектът на изненадата идва от непознаване на демографията: внезапно се изненадват от състоянието на финансиране на пенсиите, което отдавна е предвидимо; те като че ли сега откриват, че се очаква намаление на икономически активното население; безпокои ги затварянето на училища, което спъва икономическото развитие на селските райони; забелязват как намалява потока на студентите, постъпващи във висшето образование … Тези няколко примера показват, че икономическата наука все още не е успяла да акцентира в достатъчна степен върху икономическите последици от демографските процеси.
