Abstract

Les inégalités sont au cœur des processus de développement à l'échelle de la planète. L'article examine les relations inégalités-développement sur la longue période et leurs évolutions quantitatives au fil de l'essor différencié des pays du Nord et du Sud, dans un contexte marqué par la mondialisation des échanges et la globalisation financière, à l'origine de profonds changements dans les chaînes de valeurs et les trajectoires de développement national. Malgré les difficultés d'appréhension des inégalités sociales et environnementales, le plus souvent de natures qualitatives, l'évolution des rapports sociaux et du changement climatique en renforcent l'évidence.
