Regard statistique sur la piraterie maritime contemporaine

Abstract

L'économie mondiale est étroitement liée à la maîtrise du milieu marin et sous-marin, la majeure partie du commerce mondial transite par la mer, il s'agit d'un enjeu stratégique. La piraterie maritime met en exergue l'importance de disposer en permanence de routes maritimes sûres, elle est l'exemple parfait de la menace asymétrique. Le MICA Center, centre français d'analyse et d'évaluation de la situation sécuritaire maritime mondiale, révélait qu'en 2019, en moyenne un navire par jour était victime d'un acte de piraterie ou de brigandage dans le monde. La France a toujours joué un rôle de premier plan au niveau mondial dans la lutte contre la piraterie. De nombreuses sources statistiques existent dans le domaine qui autorisent des analyses prédictives en matière de prévention des risques. Il demeure néanmoins que leur qualité et leur exhaustivité reste questionnée.
