Abstract

En tant que disciplines académiques, les sciences sociales sont supposées produire des résultats indépendants des circonstances particulières dans lesquelles ils ont été fabriqués. Tout se passe comme si, pour accomplir une œuvre scientifique de valeur, il fallait absolument abstraire l'énoncé du lieu et du moment où il a été produit, s'extirper du particulier pour atteindre au général. Cependant, il existe un courant de recherche qui contribue discrètement à une remise en cause radicale de la conception scientiste du travail en sciences sociales. Ce courant s'attache à raconter le déroulement des enquêtes scientifiques, à exhumer et à analyser les traces matérielles du travail des chercheurs, et à mettre en évidence la succession de coups de force, ou des tours de force, par lesquels ils se sont élevés du cours ordinaire de la vie sociale pour atteindre à un énoncé théorique mis au format disciplinaire.
