Abstract

Les réseaux de franchise, en progression constante, représentent une part de plus en plus importante du commerce de détail en France ces dernières années. Leur nombre, sur le territoire national, est ainsi passé de 530 en 1998, à 1 234 en 2008, pour atteindre 2 004 réseaux en activité au 1er janvier 2018 (Banque populaire & Fédération française de la franchise, 2018). Ces réseaux sont construits sur la relation entre un franchiseur et des franchisés. Elle s'articule autour de droits et de devoirs entre les deux parties. Si les franchisés sont sommés de respecter le concept du franchiseur, ce dernier doit soutenir et assister les franchisés tout au long de la durée du contrat de franchise. Ces obligations soulignent l'importance du rôle du franchiseur dans le développement du réseau.
